Urgent Plea for Michael Haney Family
October 10, 2005

Michael Haney

Michael Haney, longtime AIM activist, and one of the people on the cutting edge for the work done by the National Coalition on Racism in Sports and Media has gone home to his ancestors. Mike, a beloved friend and strong heart, passed away on Saturday morning, October 8, 2005. Mike's family had previously put out an urgent plea for prayers as Mike remained in critical condition in Oklahoma. On behalf of the American Indian Movement Grand Governing Council, and the many AIM sister and brother friends of Mike Haney, we extend our deepest heartfelt condolences to the family. Words cannot express this loss.

The Wake is Wednesday, October 12, 2005, and the funeral is Thursday, October 13, 2005 at the Hitchitee Methodist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma. Seminole is 40 miles East of Oklahoma City on I-40, and 3 miles South of I-40.
