American Indian Movement Spring Meeting


May 20, 2010

TO: AIM Chapters, Members, Support Groups, Friends,

The American Indian Movement Grand Governing Council will be convening our spring meeting on June 3-5, 2010 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We would be honored by your presence to help continue the work on the important issues of the past, present, and future.

As a part of this meeting, we are extending an invitation in solidarity to AIM Chapters nationwide, community, and support groups to send a representative to present a report about your organization to the American Indian Movement Grand Governing Council.

Reports from AIM Chapters, Communities and Support Groups will begin on Thursday, June 3, 2010. Please bring any printed literature for distribution.

On Friday, June 4th a traditional opening ceremony and introductions will start the day.

The scheduled panels for June 4-5th are:

AIM Membership Standards, Guiding Principles and Trademark Protection

AIM Youth

Spiritual Leaders and Medicine People Forum

Community Health Development

Treaty Rights

Political Prisoners - Legal Rights and AIM Patrol

Culturally Based Education/ Racism in Sports and Media

Economic Development, Green Jobs and AIM Interpretive Center, American Indian OIC

Communications

Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples/ Border Issues and Migration

Each panelist will give a brief presentation on the panel theme, and participate in a question and answer period at the end. It may be possible to use an audio or visual component.

Please respond by May 27, 2010 if you or your organization will be participating in the American Indian Movement Grand Governing Council spring meeting. Please send your reply via email at aimggc@att.net as soon as you can.
